                                           Vehicle Crashworthiness
A reasonably designed and manufactured automobile should afford reasonable protection to drivers and occupants in foreseeable accidents.  Much progress has been made by the automobile industry, with the urging and insistence of the plaintiff's trial bar, since the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Act was passed in 1966.  However, there are still areas of concern, with reference to safety, inasmuch as no matter how hard we try, the automotive industry is still "driven by a profit motive" and is forever inclined to cut costs at the expense of safety in their continuing effort to make the profit and loss statement look as good as possible.

Our firm has handled crashworthiness and other product liability cases since the mid 1960s.  We have cases now pending involving lack of reasonable structural integrity of front seat driver and passenger seats; defective and unreasonably dangerous seat belts that come unlatched due to "inertia", or other reasons during the impact; lack of structural integrity of the A, B, and C posts in rollover events; malfunctioning airbags; lack of reasonable road handling and stability problems as well as other hazards and defects related to the manufacturing process.

Although the state of art has been vastly improved, there are many areas where the automobile industry is reluctant to address in an adequate manner.

Notwithstanding the above, the time and expense involved in the proper preparation of a crashworthiness lawsuit necessarily requires the injuries of the potential plaintiff be significant enough to warrant the expense involved in handling the case.

The firm is currently handing cases involving brain injuries, paraplegia, quadriplegia, and/or other serious or fatal injuries of the occupants in a motor vehicle collision.  Vehicular accidents may be caused by defects in the vehicle resulting in injuries to the occupants where there is:

            1.  Lack of anti-lock brakes and electronic stability.
            2.  Failure of seat belts to deploy.
            3.  Seat collapses.
            4.  Lack of side and side curtain air bags.
            5.  Rollover accidents.
            6.  Seat belts which do not restrain the occupant.
            7.  Roof and other structural collapses.

If you believe either you or a family member has been seriously injured as a result of a vehicle manufacturing defect, please feel free to contact our firm at (866) 324-8910.
